Next Thursday is Eid ul-Fitr, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan. One of the five pillars of Islam, Muslims around the world follow the example of the Prophet Muhammad and fast from dawn to dusk. Ramadan is a prayerful month and the idea that people all over the world are fasting and reflecting on their spiritual journeys is very powerful to me. Check out the Boston Globe's series of beautiful images of Muslims across the globe coming together for Ramadan--in prayer, in celebration, and in meals. (Can someone please make chocolate mosques in NYC?) Happy Eid ul-Fitr to all my folks! Thanks Rukhs!!
